NSW North Coast Division

Overview

The North Coast Division of the Institute is comprised of Pathology Scientists working in the Public and Private Sector. We gather members from a fairly wide area, but it is roughly bounded by Newcastle in the South, The Qld border in the North and the Northern Tablelands in the East.

Our main activity is our Annual Conference which is held on the first weekend of November each year at the Darlington Beach Resort Arrawarra about 35 kms North of Coffs Harbour. This weekend comprises workshops on the Friday in the different disciplines of Pathology and then followed by lectures during the day on Saturday and Sunday morning. The North Coast Conference is renowned amongst the industry as being a friendly, fun and welcoming conference. Our traditional Friday Happy Hour/Dinner and the Conference Dinner on the Saturday night are renowned for the great times had by all. Fancy Dress is essential on the Saturday to get into the swing of the occasion.

As this conference is set in a wonderful beach side setting, suitable attire for the conference is in keeping with its nature “beachside and casual”. However the Science content is certainly not “casual” and we have a fine reputation for scientific meetings with first class content.

The North Coast Division currently holds a seat on the AIMS Advisory Council. The current committee executive are as follows:
